Religion:  Special Lesson:  Pentecost:  The children will name ways that people are helpers.  The children will express an understanding that God’s Son, Jesus, sent us the Holy Spirit to be our helper.  The children will discuss how to bring peace to others.

Literacy/Literacy:  Heggerty Lesson Overview Weeks 28-35 :  Week 33.  Students will produce words that rhyme.  Students will isolate the initial sound in spoken words.  Students will learn to blend three phonemes into a spoken word.  Students will continue to practice phoneme isolation with final and medial(vowel) phonemes in spoken words.  Students will learn to segment a spoken word into three phonemes.  Students will manipulate the initial phoneme in a spoken work with adding, deleting, and substituting. Letter of the week Yy.  Home/School Connection:  Bring a Yy item from home.

Math:  Count 10 items in any order.  Count 10 children in any order.  Combining sets to make10.  Making sets of 10.  Make and break 10.  Ten frames.  Focus Color:  Pink

Science:  Bug Science. The children will become Entomologists for the day when we explore bugs and their life cycle of a butterfly.   We will also go outside and observe the variety of bugs we see.While outside, the children will also observe and identify living and nonliving things we see outside.  What makes something living?  It grows, it breathes and can move.

Afternoon Enrichment

Monday:  Our World and Beyond:  The planet Earth.  The children will learn about the planet we live on.  The children will learn that Planet Earth is in the solar system and revolves around the sun.  The children will learn that Earth is made up of Land, Air and Water.

Tuesday:  ABC Review.  Letter Hunt and put letters in order.  Identify sounds/words for each letter.Review letter Yy. 

Wednesday:   Patterning, 2D and 3D shape review.  Counting to 20. Measuring different objects that we find outside with cubes.  

Thursday:  Bushel of Books:   We will some Click Clack Books by Doreen Cronin.  We will learn about the author that wrote these fun books.  Concepts of Print, Sequencing and retelling of a story.

Friday:  STEM:  We will continue our study of our Moon.  Why are there craters on the moon?  Can we see the moon during the day?   The boys and girls will make moon dough.
